At 0200 hours my crew and I traveled through the wormhole known simply as the crossing. We have breached the otherside I repeat... We have reached the other side with minimal damage and no reported injuries. To whoever receives this transmission, know that we abourd the USS. Kaneda are setting off into what is truly the unknown. New Races and planets await on the horizon of this new and wonderous dimension. Who knows what the future will hold...

William nodded at her in understanding; 'willing but not just yet...'
"You're welcome... " He let out a short breath and then leaned back on the foot of the couch still gently holding Ivanna in his arm as he closed his eyes and let his head lay back and pop lightly bringing a slight humm of relief...

She could feel the pain and sadness that her answer invoked in him, and immediatly regretted it. Wishing she could change the past, or perhaps forget part of it, she closed her eyes. She was afraid that her answer would hurt him, or at least, upset him a little, but she was scared. After her almost perfect life, the one mistake just seemed ot lead to another, all centered around love.
Breifly, she wondered if love was a punishment for some, and a reward for others. It seemed so rewarding at the time, but now, it just hurt.
"Thank you for that," she whispered. She could feel that he spoke truly. Regardless, he would not push her, or be angry, and she needed that more than anything. That simple thought made a decision for her.
"You'll be the first to know, and the one to help me get there."

When she told him she didn't know he smiled sadly at her; "Then know that I do value you Ivanna... And I want to help you heal... whenever you're ready..."
He fought the urge to kiss her as he slowly opened his eyes and looked at the sad, broken angel in his arms...

"What if, their leaving was your fault, because you may not have been whom the expected either?" she asked. "or else, you did something they could never approve of, that may have hurt them so deeply, they felt betrayed? Doesn't that change things?"
She knew the answer in her heart, of how she felt. That with her actions, she had caused everything that happened. By acting as she did, she betrayed everyone and everthing she had once cared about.
She thought about his question, and wondered how she should answer. She had been loved, for herself, and nothing else.The image of a black shadow demon swept through her mind. Too let someone else in, almost felt like she would be betraying him. She had fallen in love with him that frst day when they had met, and he had tried so hard to save her. He had even been willing to change himself for her. She could sense that, but had never let him.
"I don't know," she replied honestly, afraid of hurting him, but afraid of hurting herself as well.

A William listened, a new person came to mind; a short, curvy girl with black hair, red wings and eyes and short fangs, tattoos on her arms and around her waist, {Karmyn} and then a night, not too long ago came to mind... He had been young and in rut, and she had been drunk and looking for some fun... That night was not one had had bee very proud of, but it had given him his first crush... and his first broken heart...
"The first time the hardest to go through and the last the easyest to heal from, but it only makes you hard and cold..."
Will then pulled back a bit from her and lifted her face up to look at him; "Ivanna... I want to make you feel valued... loved... Everyone deservs that at least once, and you need it very much right now... will you let me?" His cheeks tinted slightly and hsi eyes scearched hers as he waited...

Ivana nodded at his words, beleiving them, but at the same time...
"Yes, but that only holds true if they care for you as well," she said, her voice sounding almost harsh. "IF the never did, and they rejecy, humilate and hurt ou when the leave, and are only too happy to do it, not caring how you feel, then they take that part of you with them."
She leaned against him, soaking up his warmth and care, like a balm to her wounded body, mind and spirit.
"Have you ever cared for someone so much you would do anything for them, to help them?" she asked, and then nodded before waiting for an answer as once more his Destiny's image floated through her mind. "So have I. Twice, maybe three times. But the first two, were not whom I thought they were. They did not feel for me what I had for them. And both caused me more pain than I thought possible."

William held her gently and nodded, then replied; "True, but someone can never really leave if you remember them... and there can always be someone new... maybe not better but maybe different..." He then gently rested his head on her and whispered; "Everyone needs to be valued and Ivanna, you have more value that you know... " Will sighed as he held her, feelig her warmth, her heartbeat, the feeling of her touching his body, the softness of her frightened, broken self, in his care...
It was then he knew that there meeting was for both of their good; they had met, him to heal her long time hurt, and her to ease the pain and nurse his fresh wounds...

She was surprised when he reached for her, but didn't fight it. It had been too long since she had been held by somene not needing or wanting something from her. Only one person had ever done that anyway, as most of her angelic friends had never understood the need. It was a mortal emotion, they said.
She sighed softly as he tried to explain it to her. She had shared her story with one other, nad it had made her feel better, had improved the emmptiness, but she was scared.
"When you share a peice of yourself with someone else, you form a bond, I can't afford to," she said softly. "It only deepens the emptiness whn they are gone."

Will turned his head and looked into her face, a longing in his eyes... "Then... Let me help you understand..."
Slowly William reached out and pulled her to his side and held her in a protective embrace, his arms warmly wrapped around her slender frame, "You can't look inside yourself and find what is needed, you need to give a little bit of yourself to understand and feel release..."
He knew that he was being slightly selfish, holding her, he just needed to hold someone was all but... he also knew that she needed someone to value her, the abuse clearly marked her and he could see the source of her pain now... And it broke his heart...

Listening to him, the tears died, as they always did. She also felt his pain ease and wondered breifly why it was she could cry for everyone else, but no longer for herself.
"You make it sound so easy," she relied, looking from her hands to search his face. "Maybe someday, I'll understand, and be able to do that. For now, all I have is the emptiness."

Will thought about her remark as his tears slowly stopped.
"Then if there is nothing left, you need to put something inside to fill the void... That is what can ease the pain as well as crying it out..." He slowly removed his hand from her shoulder and rested it on the rug beneath them his eyes now looking at the floor aimlessly...

Alessia nodded softly, curtly, a bit surprised. She hadn't figured he would take up the offer, but she didn't mind, else she wouldn't have offered in the first place.
"Vana'Diel..." she murmured softly, storing the fact away, for a time when she could visit.
"I must admit, I am not the best person for tours, but I shall do my best" she said with a small smile, as she started away.

Ivanna started to shake her head at his remark, before she noticed him close his eyes. As the tears fell, she felt the pain, the love and the acceptance. Yes, it was fine to cry, but what happens when you just can't anymore.
"You're right," she said softly staring at her hands. "I know I would feel so much better if I coud cry, but I just can't anymore, ther's nothing left."

Will nodded his understanding; it made things less clear, but he knew what she meant by what she did, although how she had come to be what and where she was now remained a mystery.
He then saw the tears forming in her eyes and he felt his heart go out to her; the pain was clear, even if the true source wasn't...
Slowly and gently he reached his hand out and brushed a stray lock of hair out of her face then rested his hand on her shoulder and spoke softly, his voice full of kindness; "Ivanna... It's okay to cry... Shedding tears isn't wrong. In fact, it can help set you free from the pain..." As he spoke Destiny's face came to his mind, her laugh sounded in his head and his heart trembled slightly as tears of his own formed him his eyes... He slowly closed them and let the tears fall silently...

She listened silently, surprised that he was so willing ot share so much. Perhaps that was jsut her, maybe only she felt the need to hold back her life until she really knew someone. THat was ingrained in her by her father.
Nodding, he studied him intently for several seconds.
"A world I am not familiar with, I shall have to study it sometime," she said softly. "But for now, I have duties to attend to that require me to be in the city. If you would like, I can give you a small tour, otherwise, if you need anything, stop by the Chamber of the Council, and ask for Alessia. I'll do what I can."

The smile that crept across her fae was a smirking one. It was aimed at herself, and at what she was.
"Not exactly," she said as she shook her head. "I was a Watcher. I decided the fate of others, without them ever knowing I was there or giving them the chance to explain their actions."
She shrugged and studied her hands a moment, then looked back to him, tears pooling in her eyes. She had not cried in many years, but they still came, she just never shed them.
